What are cookies?
Cookies are small files which are stored on a user's computer. They are saved, and are updated via your internet browser (e.g, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari). They hold a small amount of data specific to your relationship with a website. They can be accessed by the web server allowing it to recongnise who you are. The web server can then display specific information from one visit to the website (or related site) to the next.
If cookies are not enabled a web server cannot serve up specific content without a user manually logging in first
